My Approach
An eye for the telling detail.
A hand resting on a shoulder...
A child watching with rapt attention…
The quiet wiping of a tear…
When shooting a wedding, it’s all in the details. I love capturing all of it with grace and humor. With so much drama and emotion happening at once, it takes enormous skill and experience to recognize special moments the split second they’re happening, and be in the perfect position to capture it on camera for posterity.
I’ve been producing, directing and shooting documentaries professionally for the past 35 years. Enormously successful documentaries that have won major awards and been seen the world over. When you have only one shot to get it right, there’s no substitute for that kind of experience.
I approach making wedding videos no differently than my films for HBO or PBS. I shoot hand-held, working as a one-man crew, using state-of-the-art equipment so unobtrusive I’m often mistaken for a wedding guest, if even noticed at all. Which is, of course, one of the keys to getting great candid footage.
In the end, you’ll receive a classic, feature-length documentary of your wedding day. One that you’ll want to watch again and again. One that will stand the test of time.
